Vintage-style cup sleeves

 ヴィンテージ調のカップスリーブ

Introduction.

A one-of-a-kind item created with your own unique "dyeing" process.

This cup sleeve can be easily made by cutting it out of a piece of leather and sewing it together. By dyeing, you can create your own "one-of-a-kind" product.

The process is as simple as "cutting," "pasting," and "sewing," so feel free to enjoy the different hues and atmospheres created by dyeing the leather.

STEP.1

Smoothly treat toco surfaces with "Toconol."

STEP.2

Place the pattern on the leather and mark along the pattern using a silver pen.

STEP.3

Dip a soft cloth or similar object in the dye, and apply the dye in the order of lightest to darkest color to create a gradation.

<Point Advice>
Dye the leather gradually, starting from the outside of the leather, looking at the hue.

STEP.4

Apply acrylic pigment as desired.

STEP.5

Wipe the top with a cloth moistened with water and blend the color throughout.

STEP.6

The surface is finished by applying "Leather Coat," which acts as a coating.

STEP.7

After the painting is finished, the pattern is placed on the paper and the leather is cut.

STEP.8

Wrap the leather around the cup and mark a circle around the cup with a silver pen.

STEP.9

Draw a line for sewing where the marks are connected, and also draw a line for cutting 1.5 mm outside.

STEP.10

Cut along the lines for cutting.

STEP.11

Warm the screw with a lighter flame and use a "screw twist" to pull the twist. By pulling with the image of making a groove, the design will be tightened in appearance.

STEP.12

Draw a thin 2.5 mm wide line with a "divider" as a guide for sewing.

STEP.13

Stitch holes are made by "rhombomeuchi" along the drawn guide.

STEP.14

The areas to be sewn are coated with "Cybinol" and pasted together.

STEP.15

Sew them together using waxed thread.

STEP.16

The end of the stitching is done by "2-mesh turn," and the thread is fastened by burning it with a lighter flame when the stitching is finished.

STEP.17

Use a cutter to remove the top and bottom corners of the handle section.

STEP.18

Draw a twist on the edge of the handle with a "screw twist".

STEP.19

Drill holes for "dovetails" using a mallet and "round punch".

STEP.20

The "dovetail" is hammered in with a hammer.

STEP.21

The entire surface is lightly filed and polished with Toconol.

STEP.22

Tap the sewn seams to blend them into the leather.

STEP.23

Once the leather and the seams are accustomed to each other, it is ready to be finished.
