持っていることを意識させない、<br>軽やかに寄り添う「纏うバッグ」

RENA "bag that wears you" that makes you unaware that you are carrying it.

If Ren's bag could be described in one word, it would be "a bag that wears you".
From the very beginning of use, the bag gently nestles along your body, making you feel as if you are wearing the bag. It can be said to embody the brand concept of "not making you aware that you are carrying it, and not asserting its existence. This is made possible by pigskin, a material that has become synonymous with Wren. The original pigskin is sourced in Japan and finished at a tannery in Tokyo. When the brand was established in 2005, pigskin was a supporting material used for the lining of shoes and bags. At that time, cowhide was highly valued for its beautiful surface without scratches or uneven coloring, and its quality could be recognized at a glance. Therefore, there were few brands that used pigskin as the main material for the face of a bag. It is true that pigskin has some drawbacks, such as uneven coloring, scratches, and the tendency for the color to fade. However, Wren regarded this as one of the characteristics of pigskin and focused on its lightness, suppleness, high density, and durability. Furthermore, the fact that pigskin is less expensive than cowhide leather and can be used to make bags that satisfy customers at a reasonable price was a deciding factor in their decision to use pigskin.

As is the case with humans, animals have different skin conditions depending on the individual. Although it is possible to even out surface flaws and wrinkles as if applying makeup, Ren dares to use unrefined leather. This is a finishing process that uses almost no chemicals such as colorants or finishing agents after dyeing, and is as close as possible to the condition of unbleached leather. This is why you can fully appreciate the natural texture and individuality of leather, which spices up a simple design and gives it an exquisite presence.

The materials Ren handles include leathers other than pigs, such as cow, sheep, and buffalo, which are finished to a natural texture by making the most of their charms and individuality. The colors are also unique, and are inspired by the tones of dyed watercolors. The coloring also changes depending on the season and the condition of the leather in the sun, resulting in a slightly different coloring each time. In other words, the texture and coloring of pigskin is unique and one-of-a-kind.

Another appeal of Wren's bags is that they are lightweight. This is not only because of the use of pigskin, but also because the bags are as simple in construction as they are in appearance, with no hardware or lining. Hardware can be a design accent, but the more you use it, the heavier it becomes. The same goes for the lining. In the case of the lining, there are also advantages to omitting them. The structure becomes simpler and easier to repair if something goes wrong.
When inserting and removing luggage, friction between the single layer of fabric and the lining can cause fluffing, but the high density of the pigskin fiber eliminates this concern. The interior pockets and other internal compartments are also kept to a minimum. Simplifying the manufacturing process has resulted in a lighter weight and a lower price.

Until now, pigskin has played a supporting role, but now its value has been discovered by Len. In order to directly enjoy the charm of pigskin, it has been reduced to the bare minimum in a simple design. Nowadays, diversity is called for in any case. Even if there are flaws or uneven colors, they are not flaws but individuality, and it is fine to have various expressions of leather.
In other words, Len seems to be proposing diversity of leather. The bags, which can be worn as if wearing clothes, are modest in their assertiveness, but will gently accompany the owner's life.

The pigskin leather and the coloring of the leather make
a feminine and soft leather tote.

This tote bag has been produced since the brand's launch, with minor updates, and is a representative of Ren. The original pigskin is lightweight, but its high density makes it thin but strong, so it can be used as a daily necessities. The soft and exquisite pink beige color, combined with the pigskin, gives the bag a light impression.
The interior is simple, with only one pocket, leaving it up to the buyer to decide how to use it. Although it is made entirely of leather, it can be rolled up into a small bag without losing its shape, so it is recommended to carry it as a sub-bag.
